And like you say, pretty much everything else in Puerto Vallarta is close by, and 50-60% cheaper than Cabo. Also at PVR you can save the big taxi airport fee by walking across the walk bridge next to the airport and getting an Uber or taxi for about 75% less. ![]() As a side note, my favorite non-beach destination is GDL.another Latin American destination where the city itself is the destination with inexpensive transportation and hotel options.Agree with all this. It also has a nice mix of locals and tourists-PVR is (or can be) the destination itself unlike somewhere like BZE where nearly everyone suggests leaving on a boat or plane to "somewhere else" after arrival.that is just too costly and time consuming particularly if I'm just there for a long weekend. ![]() As a West Coaster, when it comes to Latin America destinations, it really is more about the "vibe" and logistics than distance.PVR is always my first and favorite choice partially due to the ease (and low cost) of transportation when you arrive.you can be sitting at the hotel pool or on the beach shortly after you land.
